Year 5 parents - information about secondary schools for 2021
If you have a child going into Year 6 in September, you will need to apply for them to start secondary school in September 2021.

Learn about as many schools as you can |

Throughout September and October, secondary schools in Lewisham will be holding some form of open day sessions. Due to the current situation we are unable to confirm what format these will take, but this is your chance to meet staff and students and see what the schools have to offer. In the meantime you can research all the schools you are interested in by visiting their websites. |
Make a note of the deadline for applications |

The deadline for applications is Saturday 31 October but we strongly recommend that you submit your application at least a week before the closing date. |
Check the admissions criteria |

Most schools get more applications than there are places for children. When this happens, they will apply their admissions policy to decide which children qualify for a place. Make sure you read schools’ admissions criteria to see whether or not your child has a good chance of being offered a place. And please note: the criteria are not the same for every school. |
