Cedar - Year 1

Welcome to Cedar Class with Mrs Hussein and Miss Fossey

We are looking forward to welcoming you back to school on Monday 8th March.

Year one gates will open at 8:45am. Afternoon gates will open at 3:15pm ( Mon-Thurs) and 2:15pm on Fridays. You are expected to use the same entrance as before (See video below).

Hi everyone,
Well done for all the work that you have been doing. Don't forget that assignments need to be handed in tomorrow (on Microsoft Teams). Remember to check the posts page for updates.

 

We are currently in the process of setting up phonics groups across year 1 (on Microsoft Teams). The children will be able to do sessions in their groups (mixed with Cedar and Eucalyptus children) with the adult that they have at school. You will be notified once this has been set up.

BBC TV EDUCATIONAL ANNOUNCEMENT!

 

Starting on Monday 11 January, each week day on CBBC will see a three-hour block of primary school programming from 9am, including BBC Live Lessons and BBC Bitesize Daily, as well as other educational programming such as Our School and Celebrity Supply Teacher and much loved titles such as Horrible Histories, Art Ninja and Operation Ouch.

I hope that you are all well smiley. Miss Fossey and I enjoyed talking to you all on the phone this week. It was lovely to hear all of your voices. 

 

 It has been great to see that some of you have been doing the online work. I have also been sent fantastic pictures of work via email. I would love to see some more laugh. Remember to look at the 'useful websites' folder so that you can use great websites to help you with your learning. Learning packs will also be added on weekly for you to complete. I look forward to seeing all of your amazing work and I hope to see you all soon.

Oxford Owl is a great website that contains over 130 amazing and FREE eBooks. Your child will need to read the book band colour that they take home in their book bag. The book band colour can be selected on the website. The website is: https://www.oxfordowl.co.uk

Welcome back and I hope that you are all well smiley. Please look back on our page to see what Cedar class have been doing in class.

 

Currently, the children are still doing a lot of child initiated play just like in reception. There are a range of different activities inside the classroom and in the outside area. It has been lovely watching the children taking part in the different activities.

Important information for children returning in September:

On Thursday 3rd September the children will be returning to school. They will be welcomed back by their previous teacher  and will be introduced to Mrs Hussein their new teacher on Friday 4th September.

 

Cedar class children are to enter and leave through the community centre gate on Playgreen Way. One parent is allowed to wait inside the gate, near the community centre.

 

Start time: 8:50am  Finish time: 3:15pm (2:15 pm on Fridays)
