Curriculum Letter for Spring 1

Welcome back Redwood! Happy 2018. This term our topic is "Under the Sea" and our book is "Oliver and the Seawigs". It promises to be an enjoyable term.

It's beginning to look a lot like...Seasons Greetings from Redwood Class

Den building - identifying how hard it is to build a den!

Performing the end of the Ice Palace.

Folk Dancing for our Literacy project "The Ice Palace"

Could you survive in the Arctic?

As a class we undertook an exercise to see if we could survive in the Arctic! We had to prioritise the list of items from 1 to 15.  Try to see if you can guess correctly, as I'm sure your child can tell you if you are right or wrong!

(17/11/17)

Well done Redwood!

Congratulations to all of Redwood for a wonderful assembly.  There was a lot of positivity and praise from students and teachers at Elfrida about how great the children were and how we have some buddy actors in our midst!

Thank you to all who came to support it was wonderful to see you.  Look out for our further assemblies in the Spring and Summer terms.

It was lovely to meet all of you for Parent's Evening.  As you can tell the children are working really hard in all areas.

(02/10/17) Harvest Festival

Just a note to say the Harvest Festival is fast approaching.  On Friday 13th the children will be celebrating with a variety of songs and performances.  It would be lovely to see you there.

(02/10/2017) Parents Evening

Hello everyone,

The children are settling into Redwood Class nicely and we are starting to give our brains a good workout (especially the teachers!)

Just to let you know, Parent's Evening is on Monday 16th October and Wednesday 18th October.  Please let me know what time suits you best.  I have lots of slots available and have lots to praise about your children in Redwood.

This week the children will be studying the life and career of Michael Jackson and his influence on music

A great week for homework! (15.09.17)

The children have made an excellent start to the year by first of all submitting in their summer homework and secondly last Friday's homework.  Thank you everyone!

Homework will always be set on a Friday and the deadline is Wednesday.  Each week the children will have Spellings, 3 x Wow Book entries, English and Maths.  Currently we do not have any Wow Books in the Upper School but we have been told that they should be here next week.  However please do encourage your children to read at home; they are welcome to borrow a book from my library any time they like.

Looking forward to next week's homework hand in!
