Year 3 Fossils

Year 3 have been looking at different types of fossils during Science. 

Nursery- Bird Feeders

Nursery have been creating bird feeders using recycled materials.

Year 3 - Plants 

Year 3 have been working hard on their plants topic this week. The children have been creating consolidation pages based on their learning this term.

Year 3 - Plants and Habitats

Year 3 have been looking at the different environments that will have an impact on the growth of different plants. The children have been investigating the ecological life supports that is needed in order for a plant to grow. Some plants were stored in a cupboard, some went without water and some were stored in the fridge. Take a look at the results below. 

Reception- Plants and Eco Systems

Reception have been looking at different plants, fruit and vegetables as well as different ways we can help save the planet. Take a look at the children's learning below.  The children have been participating in role play at the farmers market as well as sorting different healthy foods into sections.

They have also been planting a number of different seeds and keeping a seed journal recording the plant growth.  

Year 2 - Classification Keys and Animal Pictogram

Year 2 have been learning about their favourite different animals. The children create a pictogram and bar graph identifying their favourite animals and then used this information to create classification keys during Computing.

Year 3 -Classifications

Year 3 have been classifying animals using pictures. Take a look at the children’s work below. 

Year 1 - Bird Feeders

Year 1 have been creating bird feeders using recyclable materials as part of Science Week. The children enjoyed watching a number of different birds visiting their projects and enjoying the bird seed.

Reception - Animal Yoga

Reception have been participating in Animal Yoga as part of their PE lessons and our Biodiversity topic. The children have been looking at different animal poses and learning about a range of different animals.

Year 5 - Bird Feeders

Year 5 have been designing and building bird feeders as part of our Biodiversity topic. The children participated in an experiment to see which type of bird seed the birds would prefer to eat. Take a look at some of the bird feeders below and the process when creating the feeders. 

Year 2 Forest School

As part of our Biodiversity topic, Year 2 now visit Big Cats Forest School weekly to explore outside, plant flowers and fruits and vegetables as well as build bug hotels.

The children have been exploring the trees and participating in a bug hunt.
