I hope you had a lovely weekend!

As of this week the work we set will be different.

There are 2 Reading tasks below which can be completed on 2 different days.

Writing:

The writing task below can be completed over 4 days or all in 1 day. The choice is yours.

Here is my suggestion:

  • Monday – Read the task. Discuss the questions on page 2 and then begin to plan using the Writing Frame on page 3.
  • Tuesday – Start or continue with planning using Writing Frame.
  • Wednesday – Use the plan and write the short story. Make sure you say the sentences ALOUD before writing them.
  • Thursday – Check your writing. Make sure the sentences make sense! Use page 5 of the writing task to help check your work.

Maths:

I suggest that your child completes 1 page of the Maths activities below (there are 4) per day and then on one day complete the 8 arithmetic questions below and their Big Maths Challenges.

Here is my suggestion:

  • Monday – Page 1 of Maths tasks.
  • Tuesday – Page 2 of Maths tasks.

Hello Magnolia,

I hope you all enjoyed your half-term and the sunshine! laugh

It is the 1st June today; we are in a new month and halfway through 2020!!

I have a challenge for you this month…

Below you will find a June activity calendar. Each day there is an activity that you can do, so everyday complete the activity for that date.

You can keep track of it by writing it down, or if possible your parents could print the calendar and you can cross off each day. Take pictures of you completing the activities and send them to our class email address, magnolia@kafed.org.uk.

Today’s activity is to learn a cool cat fact for “Adopt a Cat Month”. Why not record yourself saying your cat fact and email it to me? I can’t wait to see all the activities you get up to!

Now, for this week’s work:

  • Year 2 daily lessons on BBC Bitesize - https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/dailylessons. Everyday they have 3 new lessons – 1 Maths, 1 English and 1 Topic. Each lesson has a video and then there are activities beneath the video on the webpage. Choose 1 activity to do for each lesson.

  • Use your login to do some Maths, Grammar and Spelling practice on Big Maths, Lexia, Purple Mash or SumDog.
  • Read everyday!

I look forward to seeing all the activities you get up to this month!

Don't forget to email me your June calendar activities, your work or any fun things you get up to. Send it to magnolia@kafed.org.uk .

Happy working!
