Success for today; prepared for tomorrow. Nothing is beyond our reach.

Sycamore - Year 2

We used Ipads to do coding.

We had great fun at sports day!

Even though it was a cold and rainy day, we had a lot of fun at the park!

This week is Sports Science Week. The children recently took part in a Kung Fu session. They learnt new moves and had a lot of fun exploring science in a new way. Please look at the pictures below to see what the children did.

We planted broad bean seeds today. Each week we are going to look at the changes that our seeds go through.

The children have had a great week back after the Easter holidays. Their attitude towards their learning and behaviour has been great! Keep up all of the good work! Below is a copy of the summer 1 curriculum leaflet, if there are any questions please come and ask.

Look at our amazing homework! We used boxes and different materials to create gardens.

Today was Sport Relief. We raised money to help people around the world. Below are some pictures of us completing an obstacle course. We had so much fun!

We had a lot of fun with water today! We measured amounts in millilitres!

This week has been world book week. Our book focus has been The magical bed! This book is about a boy called Georgie, who has a magical bed. This bed takes him on many magical adventures! We have produced fantastic work this week and both Miss Hussein and Miss Fossey are very impressed. We made predictions, wrote letters and wrote about our own magical adventures. This is a great book and we recommend that you read it. smiley

We dressed up as our favourite book character today!

We wrote about our own magical adventure.

Look at our amazing bookmarks!

Look at my amazing maths work! Today I used the numberline method to add numbers together. Miss Hussein, Miss Fossey and Ms Newton were very impressed with me!

On 3rd February we had a meeting for the parents of Year 2 children in the hall.  We spoke about the new expectations for children at the end of the year.

Please see below for the Powerpoint Miss Cartwright did.  If you have any questions or queries please do not hesitate to come in and ask!

We all went to the Maritime Museum today! We really enjoyed ourselves!

Miss Hussein and Miss Fossey were very impressed with our behaviour today!

We used a numberline to multiply numbers!

Look at us retelling a chapter and using inverted commas!

We were able to identify mixed fractions and order them from smallest to biggest.

We halved numbers in maths.

We were able to double numbers.

In Science we have sorted out materials and have written about their properties.
