Thursday 4th March 2021

World Book Day

Throughout the week read some of your favourite books. You can either look through them by yourself or you can look through them with your adults at home. Which part is your favourite? Which picture do you like the best? Why? Which character do you like? What happens in the story? Can you find any words you recognise? Does your book have any rhyming words?

Take some photos of you reading your books and send them into the Nursery email address!

We are very much looking forward to welcoming all of the Nursery back on March 8th. We will be sending out more information next week on making the return as safe as possible for children, parents and staff.

Please do speak to your child about coming back to Nursery in order to prepare them as much as possible and to support them in feeling happy and confident to return.

Any concerns or issues, please do contact Nursery staff via the Nursery email address or ask us when we call you next week.

This week is Children's Mental Health Week......

The theme of this years' Children's Mental Health week is Express Yourself.

Expressing yourself is about finding ways to share feelings, thoughts or ideas through creativity. This could be through art, music, writing and poetry, dance and drama, photography and file and doing activities that make you feel good.

STORY TIME ON WEDNESDAY 27TH JAN AT 2.30PM WITH MEZ IN SCHOOL.

COME ALONG TO THE MEETING BY CLICKING ON THE LINK IN THE CALENDAR OR BY CLICKING ON THE LINK ON THE GENERAL PAGE IN TEAMS.

REMEMBER TO LOAD THE TEAMS APP ONTO YOUR DEVICE AS IT HAS MORE SETTINGS TO USE.

I WILL BE READING A STORY TO YOU ALL, SO IT IS A GOOD CHANCE TO PRACTISE YOUR LISTENING SKILLS. WHEN YOU JOIN I WILL MUTE YOU ALL AND THEN AT THE END WE WILL HAVE TIME TO CHAT TO EACH OTHER!

Please see the flyer below on how EP Connect can offer you and your family support through Lockdown.

Parents, I have the logins you will need to access the online learning through Microsoft Teams. Please look out for an email coming to you in the next few days. This email will give you information about what app to download to an electronic device, it will give you a username and then a temporary password. You can change this password after you log in for the first time.

Please do let me know by emailing the Nursery email address if you do not receive all of this information by Friday.

By using Teams we will be able to do some 'live' teaching and hopefully see each other for story times, phonics and some fun games and activities! Thanks, Mez

When I went for a walk at the weekend with my family we think we spotted Stickman going for a walk too! Can you see him in the picture below?! I wonder where he was going? He was walking too fast for me to have a chat with him, but he looked happy and I am sure he would be excited to know that the children in Saplings Nursery have read his story and completed some fun activities about him!

IMPORTANT!!!!

Please remember that Primary applications for Reception class starting in September 2021, MUST be completed by Friday 15th January 2021. You must go to eadmissions and complete the online application form. You will need to upload supporting documents with your application. Please do not leave this until the last minute, otherwise your application will be considered late.

Please find a list of activities that you can do with the children at home to support their learning. Click on the link which will take you to the word document. Please do take photos of the children completing any work and send them through to us so we can see them and then put them up on our webpage for everyone to look at. Please do check the sub page at the top week by week for more learning activities and ideas..
