Today's focus in Maths are Fractions! Some of you need to practise Ordering and Comparing Fractions (included are 2 videos and a worksheet) so please do this activity.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/articles/znk4kmn

If you find the above challenging then first do the Equivalent Fractions activity. Other activities you could try are 'Writing percentages as fractions and decimals' and even though we haven't covered 'Dividing fractions by integers' you could try this today. This would have been our next Math topic (questions about dividing fractions appeared in the latest PIXL assessment).

You can of course try other fraction activities on this website especially if you feel you need to work on a particular area in fractions.

Remember if you find the Year 6 activities challenging go to Year 5 or Year 4 and work your way up. If you feel confident in all the areas covered in Year 6 then go onto Year 7. Good luck!

Big Maths (19.11.20)

Well done to the following children who have completed their Big Maths:-

Khylan, Olu, Leon, Taya, Ethan, Mohammed, Mariatu, Mamadu, Kevin, Leah, Michael, Makayla, Jovani, Sho'mari, Gracie and Ramazan. If you haven't completed your Big Maths yet you need to do so today!

18.11.20

Today in Maths the focus is Multiplication and Division. Some of you need to practise multiplying and dividing by 10, 100 and 1000 so focus on that today. If you are confident with this then do the activity linked to completing calculations using the correct order of operations (BIDMAS). I noticed that some of you (during the latest PIXL assessments) found the ratio question challenging so work through 'Introduction to Ratio' and then try ' Represent and Calculate Ratio.' Remember if you find the Year 6 Multiplication and Division challenging go to Year 5 or even Year 4 and work your way upwards. Good luck!

Big Maths

17.11.20

Today the focus in Maths is Addition and Subtraction. Remember if you find the Year 6 activities challenging go to the the year below or the year below that and work your way up. If you are confident adding and subtracting - start with adding and subtracting decimals and if you want to stretch yourself try the Year 7 activities.

Big Maths

Five children have completed their Big Maths (Khylan, Michael, Taya, Mariatu and Gracie) well done. Please complete this by Friday and I will then post those of you that have been promoted.
