Happy New Year!!
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and all your families
Hello Beech Class, Well that was a different ending that I was expecting. I thought we had another three days left after today but it was cut short...
Please stay safe, look out for the Christmas song from all the staff at Elfrida on our website!
At the end of every week, the children will have a chance to jot down a couple of things that they
felt went well with their learning.
It is so lovely to find out what they can remember !
Year 5 have been reading the fantastic book by Louis Sachar - There's a boy in the girls' bathroom".
They have been using this text to write diary entries, letters of advice and even turned some of the pages into a play script. Here you can see then children acting out their parts during English.
During Diversity Week, we studied people over time who have had to deal with issues related to race, disability and discrimination.
We read stories of how these athletes, thinkers and artists worked through their dilemmas in their lives in the past and present in a book called "I am not a label" by Cerrie Burnell. (You may remember her - she was one of the presenters on CBBCs in the 1990s who was born with a right arm that ends just below the elbow).
During the school summer break, some of the children made some extremely creative designs to do with out topic "Water".
They came up with some very genius and original ideas.
