Sequoia were fortunate to have two parents visit their class this week and read to them. Temmy's mum came in and read 2 West African folktales. The first was called 'Akiti the Hunter' and the second was called 'The Tortoise, the Dog and the Farmer.' The children loved both stories! Belle's mum read a story and a poem. The former was called 'The Day You Begin' by Jacqueline Woodson and the poem was called 'I am Diversity Please Include Me' by Charles Bennafield. The children enjoyed listening to both! A big thank you to the parents for making our Diversity Week extra special.
