  • The Winter Fair

    Sat 09 Dec 2017

On Friday 8th December, we held our annual winter fair.  As ever there were lots of people who came to support the school.  Cakes were eaten, faces painted, Santa visited and the raffle was drawn!  A huge attraction was the opportunity to stick Mr McNulty to the wall! For the minimal price of £1, you could buy 2 strips of duct tape, which were then used to attach Mr McNulty to the wall.  We are not sure who paid the most money - staff or children!

To see the moment when we took away the supporting chair click here!

Did we take him down?....  You'll have to pop into the hall and find out!  A big thank you to the PTFA for all of their organisation and the staff for helping out.

On November 30th we held the KS2 disco.

Again, a great night was had by all, with some brilliant tunes, great dance moves and lots of sugar!!

A huge thank you to the parents of the PTFA for organising such a great event and staying to sell exciting things as well as sweeping, clearing and mopping well into the night!!

The two events were great fundraisers and the PTFA have raised over £400 with your help.

  • EYFS and KS1 Disco

    Thu 30 Nov 2017

On Wednesday 29th November we began the winter festivities with the annual KS1 disco.

Children (and parents) danced on the dance floor and treated themselves to various treats including popcorn, slushies and chocolate!

There were sparkles and glitter in abundance and the smiles were huge.  A big thank you to all the parents and carers who came to support their children - we know you had a great time too!

  • Trish Cooke visits!

    Wed 18 Oct 2017

On Wednesday 18th October Trish Cooke, the author of one of our favourite books, came to visit.  Trish wrote the story So Much which was illustrated by Helen Oxenbury.

She spoke to the children in Reception and Year one in their classrooms and then she spoke to all of the children in Key Stage one in the hall.  Trish read us all the story of So Much and explained that she had written it when her son was a baby and that the Mum in the story was actually her!

She told us that being a writer is a challenge and that you have to work hard at it, but that she loves it!

Some children were also lucky enough to get a signed copy of her book.

    What a great day!

  • Harvest Festival

    Fri 13 Oct 2017

On Friday 13th October the whole school celebrated Harvest Festival.  We held two special celebration assemblies and parents came to both of them.

No harvest celebration would be complete without a rousing chorus of Cauliflowers Fluffy and as usual, this ended or started our celebrations well.

Each class had something to perform, from artwork, to songs, to story telling.

We had a visit from Carol from the local food bank who explained where our donated food would go and who it would help in our local area.  A big thank you to everyone who brought in food to donate to others.  Your generosity was amazing.
