Elfrida Primary School

Success for today; prepared for tomorrow. Nothing is beyond our reach.

Our Learning

In Science, Chestnut Class enjoyed going on a tree hunt, where they explored the school grounds looking at leaves and learning how to identify different trees. They used their observation skills to spot the unique features of each leaf and had great fun learning outdoors.

We worked so well as a team during sports day!

For art the children created beautiful Maasai necklaces. They used bright colours to represent the beads.

We went to the cinema to watch Hoppers and had a great time!

This week, the class has been learning how to subtract one two-digit number from another. The children have been practicing different strategies, such as using number lines, partitioning numbers into tens and ones, and applying column subtraction. They have worked hard to build their confidence and accuracy, and it’s been great to see their problem-solving skills developing.

Our trip to St Dunstan's Church

World Book Day!

Royal Day!

During Art Week we looked at the work of Henri Matisse. We explored the image White Alga on Orange and Red Background and recreated our own using different shapes and colours.

We had a great time in the forest! We went on a senses scavenger hunt and used natural resources to create faces. It was so much fun discovering the forest and learning outdoors. smiley

In DT we used card to make our own lever mechanism.

We walked to Bellingham Green with the whole school and waved our class unity flag. We also came into school dressed in our traditional clothes or in the colours of our flags smiley.

We travelled into London to watch the Three Little Pigs at the Unicorn Theatre. It was a great show!

In Science we have been investigating different materials and discussing which material is suitable for which jobs. We also made our own ships using paper. We tested if our ships would float or sink in water!

Look at our amazing Great Fire of London display!

In PE the children have been travelling and balancing on different body parts.

The children looked at naming multiples of 10.
