School journey day 1
Mon 30 Sep 2019Our adventurers are on their way! It's never too early for lunch! They were at Winchester at 11.30.
They arrived safely at 1.45 and were just finding out about the centre before making their beds and heading for outside. So far so dry!
Not so dry for the whole afternoon, but they did manage to get in the pool before dinner!
Evening games were brain stretchers in the dry! Fingers crossed for good weather tomorrow.

Moon Landing celebrations
Mon 22 Jul 2019In celebration of 50th anniversary of the moon landing, Alder class made bottle rockets. They used plastic bottles, straws, corks,
bicarbonate of soda and white vinegar. Once they had made their rockets by sticking the straws on for legs and creating cardboard cones to make the bottles more aerodynamic, they quarter filled them with the white vinegar. They went outside to see whether the chemical reaction between the vinegar and the bicarbonate of soda created enough gas to propel the bottle rockets into the air.
Some were more successful than others. It was fun to watch, especially Mrs Efrat getting covered in vinegar and bicarbonate of soda!!

Year 6 perform the Wizard of Oz
Fri 12 Jul 2019On July 11th we were treated to an amazing performance of The Wizard of Oz put on by our Year 6s.
The challenge of getting 82 children into this performance was embraced by the staff and the children worked really hard in a range of roles to put together a performance to remember.
From props to lighting, music to fan operation and of course the singers and actors; everyone was instrumental in creating a wonderful performance.
A big thank you to the staff for their hard work on this and to all the parents who helped with props and costumes, and who came to support their children.
