What a wonderful day we have had today; thinking about what we want to be in the future and how we might go about getting there. We had 5 wonderful volunteers come in to talk to KS2 about their jobs and how they got to where they are. A huge thank you goes to Esther- a lawyer, Anu- an A+E consultant, Sunny - a music producer, Melody - an investigator for the revenue service and Karen who is a firefighter. The volunteers encouraged all of the children to believe in themselves, be the best that they could be and strive to do the jobs that they dream of. The children asked some excellent questions and we all learnt a lot about a range of professions. The main message was not to believe people who said you couldn't do something just because of the way you looked, the colour of your skin or your gender. It is important to work hard, believe in yourself and treat other people with kindness and respect.
