Our Eco warriors are famous!

After their trip to Gorne Woods the children made such an impact they were then included in the local papers.    See link for the full article:https://londonnewsonline.co.uk/brockley-campaigners-save-woodland-that-is-cathedral-to-biodiversity/

On Friday 10th February the Eco-warriors helped organise a cake sale to begin to raise money for the cause and our school environment £65 was raised!

Congratulations to you all and to Ms George for organising.

Gorne Woods

This term our Eco-warriors visited Gorne woods-which is in danger of being re-developed. The  site is currently used for forest school, scouts clubs and other community gatherings.

Elfrida school Eco-Warriors spoke to the organisers, looked at the site and protested against the changes. Future leaders!

Eco- Warriors 22-23

As the Eco-warriors are all for recycling, reusing and reducing, in our school the Eco-warriors from last year will resume the role-introducing new year 3 candidates-Kamarl (Jacaranda) , Keziah (Maple) , Louiza (Cypress) and Kaylon yr 5.

Additional information to follow.

Eco- School Green Flag Award

We have Eco -Warriors this year at Elfrida Primary school. These children work closely with the science lead- Ms Holland to promote a "Green school".

We recently applied for the Eco- Schools Award, we worked really hard last year to ensure we are a Green School and Elfrida was awarded with the Eco Award-with distinction!

Well done to all children and adult support at home with this!

Our work will continue in the new academic year.

All children have been collecting used batteries for The Big Battery Hunt. Elfrida collected 3306 batteries total. Take a look at our winners below.

A big thank you and well done to all children and adults who participated!

Second Hand Uniform Sale

Our Eco Warriors and Prefect Team have been running second hand uniform sales in the Yr3/4 playground to encourage reusing and sustainability.
The second hand uniform sale will be running every two weeks - look out for the text messages for the next sale!

NHS Water Competition

As part of our Litter and Waste topics for our Eco Award, all children across the school created posters to reduce water waste. All children worked hard to create wonderful posters and we entered nearly 400 entries. Well done everyone at Elfrida!

Well done to Khylan, Lidya and Mhd who received a letter from the Mayor congratulating them on their beautiful creations.
