  • Elf Day

    Fri 16 Dec 2016

What a day of fun, excitement and creativity we had on Elf Day!  There were so many different creative things going on and laughter truly did ring through the school.

There was such a range of activities in each classroom from festive Lego challenges to complicated origami structures,  magnetic mazes and quiz team challenges.  Some children learnt about the WW1 ceasefire while others developed exciting computer games where you had to escape from rampaging Christmas presents!  In Walnut class the children were all developing their scissor skills to help out as elves in Santa’s workshop!

Such a lot of learning, so many activities and above all, so much fun!

  • Christmas Counts with Nursery, Reception and Year 1!

    Thu 15 Dec 2016

The youngest children in the school treated us to a traditional Nativity on Thursday 15th December.  Due to the fact there are so many children, we did two Nativities giving lots of children the chance to shine.  There was tinsel, glitter and tea towels galore as the children sang their hearts out to tell us the Christmas story.  Everyone was very impressed with the way the children had learnt their lines and the confidence that they showed when acting on the stage and singing in front of it.

Well done to all of the children who took part and a huge thank you to the staff for their hard work in coordinating two such excellent shows.

  • Year 4 and 5 Away with The Manger

    Tue 13 Dec 2016

Years 4 and 5 had a treat in store for us as they lead the audience through a very different sort of retelling of the Nativity story.  With two troublesome robbers on the loose and a school about to close, it was up to Inspector Clueno to save the day.  What a shame he wasn't the best detective in the world!  With a rewritten Nativity involving Bobby Jesus in a mangle and the angle Gabby - it took some sorting out to get the exact story!  Luckily the robbers were caught, the school was saved and everyone lived happily ever after  (and all knowing the true story of Christmas!)

Thank you to all the children for their enthusiastic singing and acting and to all the staff for their hard work in putting on such a spectacular show.

  • Winter Fair

    Fri 09 Dec 2016

On Friday 9th December we held our annual Winter Fair.  What a great time we had!  As ever there was a huge queue for face painting and the artistic talents of the team were displayed on many a smiling (and growling) face!  Well done to Shampavi and her Dad who were the proud winners of the large television - the first prize in our raffle.  Popcorn and slushies were a big hit and the lucky dip and the bottle tombola were sell out stalls!

Thank you to Claire and Michelle as well as other PTFA supporters who put on this spectacular event.

  • KS2 Winter Disco

    Fri 02 Dec 2016

The KS2 disco was another huge hit with dancing, singing and lots of laughter!  The popcorn and candyfloss again went down well and there were a lot of slush puppies drunk (and spilt!)

A great way to start the festive season and lots of fun for the children. Even the staff cracked some smiles and joined in the dancing!  Thanks again to everyone who helped out and the PTA for their organisation.
