School Meals

At Elfrida all of our school dinners are cooked freshly, on site each day.

Our kitchen is run by Levi and Sarah, who work tirelessly to ensure that the food they produce is of the highest quality.

It must be great because a large number of school staff pay to eat the dinners!

Each day children from Reception to Year 2 enjoy a hot meal, free of charge.

Children in Years 3-6 can pay £2.10 a day to enjoy the school meals, or they need to bring a healthy packed lunch.  (See below)

If you pay for your child's meals, please make sure that payments are made to the school office in advance.  Please do not build up a dinner money debt!

Children from Years 4-6 can choose a baguette option rather than a hot meal if they wish.  On offer are chicken, cheese or tuna baguettes.  Baguette options are also £2.10 a day.

We ask that children in Years 3-6  make a selections of either school dinner or packed lunches, and they stick to that option for half a term.  This way we can ensure that we order the correct amount of food for the hot meal and minimise waste.

Our current lunch menu

The menu is supplied by Chartwells, a company employed by Lewisham to oversee children's meals.

If you think your family is entitled to free school meals you can call 020 8314 6221  (10am-12.30pm),  apply online here or download the form here and hand it in at the office.

Packed Lunches

Children from Years 3-6 are welcome to bring a packed lunch, which they can eat in the dinner hall or outside in the playground when the weather is warm and dry.

It is essential that children's midday meal is a balanced and healthy one so we have developed guidelines to help parents with what to include.
