• Back in Time Day!

  Thursday 29th March was officially Back in Time day at Elfrida!  

  Each class took on a particular area of history to look at and there was a lot of dressing up!  From Viking raids, Roman battles and moon landings, the day was incredibly exciting.  Children learnt many key facts about the area of history they were studying and they compared that era to modern times.

  A big thank you to Mr McNulty for organising a fantastic day where we were immersed in history across the school.

   

   

  

• Year 2/3 Performance of The Selfish Giant

  On Wednesday 28th March we were treated to a fantastic performance of The Selfish Giant by Years 2 and 3.  

  What a talented bunch of performers (and directors) we have at Elfrida!  

  The speakers could be heard right at the back of the hall and the soloists sang their hearts out in a very impressive way.

  The singing was beautiful and the simple story was told so well that a tear was seen in many an eye!

  A huge well done to all of the performers and grateful thanks to all of the staff who put together such an amazing show.  West End - Watch out!

   

  

• EYFS and Year 1 Easter Bonnet Parade

  On Tuesday 27th March, the children from Nursery, Reception and Year 1 got together to have their annual Easter bonnet parade.  

  The weather was kind to us this year and we held the celebration in the playground.

  Each class paraded around showing off their amazing creations to their friends, teachers and parents.

  Teachers had the almost impossible challenge of picking a winner from each class.  

  A massive well done to everyone who took part, there were some really amazing bonnet creations this year!

  A huge thank you to everyone who took the time to donate to our robot fund. 

  We are very excited not just to have hit our target, but to actually surpass it!

  Thank you to the parents, staff, governors and friends of friends who have so generously donated to us.  As soon as we get the robots and get them working we will post pictures of us using them so that you can see.

  A special thank you to Councilor Alan Hall and Helen and David Crowe (Former Mayor of Bromley) for their generosity in supporting a local school.  Also to Aly and Ian Peacock.  A big thank you to you all!

   

  

• The secret life of 4 and 5 year olds

  The Secret Life of 4 & 5 Year Olds

  The award-winning Channel 4 series is returning to follow 4 and 5 year olds, as they play, learn and interact with other children in a nursery. They will be observed throughout by leading scientists and psychologists, who will give insights into child development. Channel 4 are currently looking for 4 and 5 year old children and their parents to take part. Your child would be needed for a week or two of filming during the summer holidays.   We are crowdfunding to try to raise money to buy 10 Sphero robots.  These spherical robots will allow us to use coding in a practical way to solve problems.  We will need to work hard to ensure our coding is good so that we can make the robots really do what we want.  this is what they can do.....

• School Dinner Feedback

  Chartwells who provide our school dinners, are running a parents' survey!

  The annual survey ‘We’re All Ears’ is now live and runs until Sunday 25th March 2018. The survey is hosted online and can be accessed via the link: www.loveschoolmeals.co.uk/WAE

   

  Last year’s number of participants for Lewisham was below 100, so this year they are giving away X4 £50 restaurant vouchers in a prize draw to encourage parents to participate in the survey.
