7.7.16 Today we had the Very Hungry Caterpillar visit us. We asked him questions and told him about how to become a butterfly.

For the last couple of weeks we have been looking after caterpillars and we watched them transform into butterflies.

For International Week we dressed up in traditional dress and made Brazilain sweets

30.6.16 Today we had a Juice bar in Walnut Class- We cut the fruit and strengthened our hands by using an orange squeezer.

For International week we are looking at Brazil- we made carnival masks.

Your child may have told you about our new digging area. Be warned, it's very muddy! To save your child's school shoes from being destroyed we're asking that they bring in a pair of wellies if they want to have a dig. We are also asking for any donations of boots that they have grown out of.

We are very proud of the stick men we made after reading 'Stick Man' by Julia Donaldson.

We have been reading 'Kipper's Birthday' by Mick Inkpen. We decided that you can't learn about birthday parties and celebrations without having a bit of cake! We learnt how to make icing and made sure that we put enough food colouring in to get the perfect shade of green and pink!

This week we will be reading the book 'Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?' by Bill Martin Jr

Last week we learnt about the Hindu festival of Diwali. We listened to and retold the story of Rama and Sita and made these beautiful Diva lamps from clay.

This week we are reading Funnybones.
