A huge well done to Redwood and Baobab classes who have both got 99% attendance and punctuality for the first half term.

If they can do it then so can you!

Come on Alder and Acacia, you have some work to do!  Make sure you are in school every day!

  • Brass comes to Elfrida

    Tue 16 Oct 2018
On Tuesday 16th October we welcomed some members of the Worshipful Company of Musicians to our school.  Ben who played the trumpet and Darren who played the French horn came in to talk to Year 2 about music.  They showed us how to make the proper buzzing sound with our lips to make the noise and 2 children even had a go at playing the 'garden hose'!!  We learned about pitch and tempo and got to conduct the musicians while they played.  We listened to some music from around the world and all joined in with a rendition of  Oh When the Saints!. We are hoping to welcome in more musicians from the Worshipful Company soon.
  • Harvest Festival

    Fri 12 Oct 2018

What a wonderfully generous community we have here at Elfrida.  So many people brought in tins and jars to help the food bank today and many people came to join in our annual celebration.  We had beautiful singing from every year group as well as a dramatic poetry reading and some stunning art from Year 6 and information about the Jewish harvest celebration of Sukkot from Year 5.

Carol, from our local foodbank in Forest Hill was so grateful for all of the donations and she explained to us where they would be going.  She even had to ask a friend to come and help her take it away as there was too  much for her car alone!

    Wed 03 Oct 2018
Another lovely day has dawned in Swanage!  The team are staying close to the centre today, learning about the history of Swanage and catching some crabs!  (Don't worry, they have all now been returned to their natural habitats!)
  • School Journey Day 2

    Tue 02 Oct 2018

After a great night's sleep and a hearty breakfast, the adventurers set off for Studland Bay.  Although it is cloudy, it is not cold and there is no rain forecast!

They've been learning Kung Fu geography today!  Don't forget to ask them about this when they get home!

The lunchtime report from Mrs Mullarkey was that everyone was having a great time.  The maps and compass work has been very successful and Jayden and Shanay have proved to be very talented at orienteering!

They are at Knoll beach and staying there for the afternoon.  This evening they are looking forward to some team games as a follow up from the very popular pirate game they played last night.
