  • More School Journey News!

A great day was had by all again at Arethusa!  They were very brave and managed to complete lots of the high ropes challenges.  The leap of faith was a challenge but the ultimate reward for those who completed it!  Some real Robin Hoods shone at Archery and the target was hit many many times.

The evening disco was somewhat of a success but finished earlier than planned due to technical problems.

All the children have slept and are excited about more climbing and then swimming today before heading home.

We are looking forward to welcoming them back to school at approximately 2.30.  See you then!

  • School Journey update

    Thu 21 Jan 2016 K Cartwright

We are very happy to announce that all of the children slept well and are having an amazing time.  Yesterday they all had fun in the swimming pool and then learnt to use maps on an orienteering treasure hunt.  The shop also proved a hit as children treated themselves to a range of items including pens and pencils with the Arethusa logo on them to remind them of their adventure.

Today they are all ready to attempt the high ropes challenge and then get to grips with some target practise as they learn about archery.

Mr Walker was very impressed with their tidiness and both the boys and the girls scored 10/10 for room tidiness!

Home journey is also going well.  The children have been working with Mr Potts today to make their animal house designs.  They have been safely using saws, glue guns and drills to make their carefully designed creations.  Take a look at the photos.

  • Year 4 School and home journey

    Wed 20 Jan 2016 K Cartwright

At 9.00 this morning 27 Year 4s and 4 members of staff, braved the cold and frost to head off to Arethusa Venture Centre for 3 days of fun.

At the time of writing we have had confirmation that they have all arrived safely and entertained the staff with their bed making abilities - or lack of them!!  The pictures are very funny!

The Year 4's staying at school have been treated to a visit from the Wiggly Wild show, where they held geckos, snakes, millipedes and even a hermit crab.

They have also been busy designing their own animal homes which they will start making tomorrow after Mr Leach has explained how to use all of the equipment safely.
