  • Lewisham Council Parents' Survey

    Fri 11 May 2018

Lewisham Council is currently in the process of looking at how they support parents in the borough. In particular they want to understand the challenges parents face, how their services meet the needs of those who use them and how they can effectively plan services to meet parent and family's needs in the future. The results from the survey will be used to help review parenting support and to plan future services.

    Wed 09 May 2018

Some classes are doing really well!  Come one Elfrida

We are aiming for 96% attendance for everyone and 100% punctuality!

At this point in the year your class is green if their attendance is over 95% and if the punctuality is over 98%.

If your class is in the orange or the red, come on - by all working together we can get these figures up before July!!

  • Mile Run for the National Autistic Society

    Fri 04 May 2018

On Friday 4th May the whole school completed a mile run to raise money for the National Autistic Society.  We were inspired to do this by Mr Potts, whose 'brother' Power Potts ran the London Marathon a few weeks ago in aid of the same charity.

The younger children completed their run on the usual route through the playground.  It was a great atmosphere with so many runners and Mr Potts joined us too.  The older children ran a more complicated course along the river, off the road.

We will keep you posted with the amount of money that we raised.  Thank you to everyone who ran and those who sponsored a runner!

  • Nursery wins national reading prize!

    Fri 04 May 2018

Throughout the whole of March our school Nursery, Saplings took part in a national reading challenge The 100 million minutes reading challenge. The aim of the challenge was for everyone taking part to read for as many minutes as possible in class or at home to establish reading in everyone's daily routines. The national target was to read for a 100 million minutes in world book week which was easily achieved.

In Saplings Nursery, we did lots of exciting reading activities in class throughout the whole of March and all the children were given book marks each week to log how many minutes they had read with an adult at home.

We worked incredibly hard and had a fantastic time sharing stories and taking part in workshops from the pre school learning alliance.

We are pleased to announce That Elfrida Nursery won the runner up prize out of all of the Nurseries who took part in the country. We won a wonderful hamper of books and story props and can't wait to use them.

The children in the nursery who had read the most won prizes too and the overall winner was Callie who read a total of 380 minutes!!!

We are so incredibly proud of our nursery for working so hard and we can't wait for the next 100 million minutes reading challenge next year.
