  • Sports Day 2016

    Thu 26 May 2016

We were so lucky with the weather today for our annual sports day which was earlier this year as it fitted in so well with our sports science week.

KS1 started the proceedings at 9.30am and took part enthusiastically in a wide range of activities.  The sack race was great fun and the children concentrated very hard on staying upright!

At 12.00 KS2 arrived at Sedgehill fields and we all ate lunch together.  It was lovely to see the whole school and a large number of parents all enjoying lunch together in the sun.

As the KS1 children left, the older children began their activities.  They sprinted, jumped and threw in the sun and had a wonderful time.

Thanks you to Mrs Rendell for organising such a  great day and to the many parents and carers who turned up to support their children.

  • BMX and dance Wednesday

    Wed 25 May 2016

On Wednesday we had a very special team of people in to teach our junior children how to ride BMX bikes.  For those who are already confident riders, they had the chance to ride around a special track, honing their bike riding skills.  For those who were not able to ride or not very confident, they received one to one help to improve their skills.

Unfortunately the bikes were not small enough for our younger children, but they enjoyed special dance workshops throughout the day, creating movements to a range of musical tracks.  The nursery also had the chance to join in and again, great fun was had by all.  Can you see the science in what we were doing?

  • Steet Dance extravaganza

    Tue 24 May 2016

Today we were treated to sessions from two amazing street dance artists.

The whole school were present for assembly where they showed us their moves and some children from KS2 even got up and danced.

After such an exciting start to the day everyone was keen to have a go and join in.  Almost every class from Reception to Year 6 took part today learning new dance moves and continuing to look for the science in each session.  If you want to know the names of any major muscles, just ask Year 2!

  • Sports Science week begins

    Mon 23 May 2016

Today we began an amazing week of science and sport.

We have a huge range of activities going on this week and children are being encouraged to put on their special glasses and look for the science in everything they do!

Mr Mace started the week off in assembly for Years 2-6 and introduced todays Kung Fu specialists.

All Years 2-6 will all have enjoyed a fun workshop this morning.  The Year 1 children have been learning Karate with Miss O'Connor too.

They are all looking for science relating to their bodies, muscles and breathing as well as the different forces they are using when competing.

Watch out for a letter coming home tonight giving more information and with news of a competition.....

  • Back to The Future

    Wed 18 May 2016

On Friday May 13th the Year 3 children and staff put together an exhibition of their learning for all the parents and carers to see.  The children have been working on a topic about The Future.  Each class decided on their own focus based on the main theme. The children produced some amazing writing and items which they exhibited in school, to celebrate their amazing hard work.  Thank you to everyone who came, the children were very proud of their work and thoroughly enjoyed showing it off!
