Strike Day Information
Thu 23 Jun 2016We have been informed by the National Union of Teachers that their members will be taking a day of strike action on Tuesday 5th July.
NUT members at Elfrida have declared their intention to support the strike. This means that some teachers will NOT be in school that day and consequently their children will be unable to attend school.
If your child’s class is not open on Tuesday, we are not allowed to educate them in a different class that may be open due to the terms and conditions of strike action.

Celebrating the Queen's 90th
Fri 10 Jun 2016On Friday 10th June we all had a great time celebrating the Queen's 90th birthday.
Every class made bunting which we have used to decorate our halls and every class made a cake which they all shared. We had a whole school assembly in the playground where we all sang Happy Birthday to Her Majesty as well as some school favourite songs!
Each class chose children to represent members of the Royal family and we learnt all about the Windsor family tree - right down to little Prince George and Princess Charlotte!
No birthday is complete without a party and we had a great time dancing to loud music in the playgrounds!
Everyone dressed up in red, white and blue for the occasion, or dressed up as a king or queen. What a lot of fun we had. Happy Birthday, Your Majesty!

Girl's Football tournament
Thu 09 Jun 2016On Wednesday June 8th a team of girls from Years 5 and 6 played in a football tournament at Bellingham Leisure Centre. The girls played very well in the matches against 3 other teams. They were split into 2 teams, Red and Blue. Red team came 4th and the blue team came 3rd. Considering they are a new team and have had little practise, they did really well. They all received medals which they showed in assembly.
As a result of us competing in the tournament we have also received 5 weeks of football training. Thank girls!
